About Beautify Brooklyn

Pink Muhly Garden is 4,000 square feet of magic waiting to happen!

Help us to create a world-class botanical climate resiliency garden that will revitalize & ecologically protect a charming Brooklyn, New York neighborhood, in a high risk flood zone, recently devastated by climate change!

We’re combining lifelong passions, shared backgrounds in education, art, community organizing, data science, land stewardship & regenerative crypto economics to create a restorative laboratory & bring this Public Space to life!

The vision :

-Regenerate + rewild a vacant concrete lot in Red Hook, Brooklyn with ecologically beneficial plants, crops & animal habitats

- Seed the garden with the intention of Reciprocity (a.ka. Ubuntu - as we build - “I am because you are”

- Furnish & decorate our garden to house community events & forums - markets, classes, workshops, meditations, concerts, dances, hangouts, coworking, performances, immersive experiences & more

- Design + build regeneratively - solar power, rainwater capture, agroforestry, composting toilet

- Implement regenerative tech to enable MRV as we build - sensors, nfts, eco & biodiversity credits

- Document our work with blockchain data management, photos & videography to open-source for other neighborhoods & communities

- Provide art & digital innovation internships for local youth

- Intergenerational Collaboration - work together with our landlord Tony, a blacksmith & artist, to regenerate his sculpture garden in the concrete yard next door

- Engage local community members to collectively design, create & evolve the garden, providing a channel for shared vision, creativity & expression

The collective was founded in February 2024 as a division of Beautify Brooklyn, a nonprofit that aims to push the boundaries of how we celebrate our planet through free public arts and ecological restoration. Since its founding, the organization has inspired & developed a new approach to community building with a variety of creative endeavors to restore what it means to co-exist & to forge deeper bonds between neighbors. Past projects include a 20,000-attendee art & music festival set on the porches & lawns of Victorian Flatbush, more than 30 public murals, three immersive experiences, dozens of cleanups & workshops & a gallery exhibition focused of saving our seas.
